Much has been written about the coming of the Lord. In fact, so much has been written and spoken about it that most Christians have become hardened to the message and no longer even look for or anticipate it. Some think it's just a fantasy; others think they're going to fly off the earth to planet heaven however the Bible doesn't teaches such things.

Do I have all the answers about His coming? No! But I am seeking God for them so that I will not be unprepared for His coming. "Lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all, be on the alert" (Mark 13:36-37)! There is only one way for us to be prepared for His coming, and that is to "Follow the Lamb wherever He goes." He has not misled us so far, and He will not mislead us in the future. He will bring us safely into our eternal inheritance, for we are called to be joint-heirs with Christ.

What will it be like when He comes? Why will it be great to some and fearful to others? With the help of the Holy Spirit, I hope to answer these questions.

"Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen" (Revelation 1:7).

To understand the book of Revelation we must first know that the book is filled with symbols, types, and shadows. Not all things written will actual happen in the natural, but there will be some. The book must be interpreted using other parts of the scriptures and not by guesswork as some do. Until the Holy Spirit is ready to reveal to us what all things mean, we must wait on Him. We must admit that we don't know everything and won't until the time of its revealing. What the Lord has revealed, He has revealed.

Notice how the scriptures say He's coming back "with the clouds" (the elect people). The natural clouds cover large areas of the earth at one time. Spiritually speaking, this means He is returning in something massive that covers the earth. The sign and miracle of Jesus return will be His coming in a great cloud of witnesses, which most people are not expecting. "Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us..." (Hebrews 12:1). Not only is there a cloud of witnesses in heaven (spirit), but on earth also. We Christians who are on earth and remain here will rule and reign with Christ when He comes in us, in His fullness. We will be changed as they are.

How could every person on the earth see Him in the natural when He comes? Some people would say by TV, but only a small percentage of the world's population has access to television. I believe that when He comes, He is coming in His people (see 2 Thes. 1:10). The nations will see Him with the eyes of their spirit in God's chosen people. Right now the nations are blind and cannot see Him, but this is going to change. This is why Paul prayed for us in Ephesians 1:18, "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened" (opened). To be a Christian, we must see Him with our heart, right now and here; then, face to face! In other words, we must have a revelation or understanding in our heart of who and what He is, as Peter did when he said, "Thou art the Son of God." Very soon the people of the world will have the eyes of their understanding opened and they will see and understand who Jesus was and is and will mourn greatly over their sin and shame. The life they lived in opposition to Him will have been judged. "They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power" (2 Thessalonians 1:9). The time of repentance will be over for them and they will bear the loss of not knowing Jesus.

" And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory" (Matthew 24:30 KJV).

After the great tribulation, the sign or miracle of His coming in the chosen ones will be seen by all nations. Again, the scriptures say they will mourn because they missed Him and were unprepared! Notice where He will be seen: in heaven or in spirit, not the flesh. They will see Him in His power and glory being revealed in and through His people, the great cloud of witness going about healing and restoring all nations (see Rom. 8:21). God has a wonderful plan of restoration for the earth and not one of total destruction as many teach. We Christians have been called to administer His love and judgment to the nations. What an awesome God we have in choosing us! Yet there are many in the church that say God will not save the nations. That sounds as arrogant as the Jews were in Paul's day! Jesus sent him to the Gentiles because the Jews would not listen to His message. Then, the Jews attacked Paul because he was going to the Gentiles. "And He (Jesus) said to me, 'Go! For I will send you far away to the Gentiles." And they (the Jews) listened to him up to this statement, and then they raised their voices and said, "Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he should not be allowed to live" (Acts 22:21-22)! The Jews were taught that they were the chosen people and that the Gentiles would be left out because they were unclean. The church today is making the same mistake they did back then! Who are we to say what God can and cannot do? God can reveal Himself to anyone, at anytime He chooses. Yet, many will turn away from the Light and go into gross darkness.

Paul said, "And it came about that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me, and I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me,' Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" (Acts 22:6-7).

This bright light that shown around Paul was the truth of Jesus Christ striking him blind. Paul had an instant revelation of the truth/light and understood who Jesus was through it. Even though Paul was greatly opposed to Jesus, God's love broke though the hardness of his heart. The light/truth only revealed Paul's true spiritual condition, blindness to spiritual truth. Even though he pridefully thought he knew the truth, having been trained in the highest order of religious service, he was still ignorant of it.

Many have asked, "Why did God reveal Himself to Paul like this and not many others?" Paul said himself that it was the mercy of God that saved him from his former life. "Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. And yet I was shown mercy, because I acted ignorantly in unbelief" (1 Timothy 1:13). In God's timing He chose to reveal Himself to this former religious bigot that was not even searching for the truth in His Son. Even today, many Arab people are testifying of Jesus revealing Himself to them in a dream or vision and they are getting saved.

I believe these verses show us prophetically how Jesus is going to come and how all eyes will see Who and what He is by the brightness of truth/light through His people. Then the gospel will be preached in all nations and the great end-time harvest of souls will come in. "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit (Word) of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness (truth) of his coming" (2 Thessalonians 2:8). His words of truth/light will be spoken to the nations through His people, destroying the man of sin living in all people. But before this happens to the people of the world, He will first reveal Himself to the church, cleansing her from all defilement of sin through the preaching of the ministers of flames of fire. Their words will cleanse the church.

One might ask why God doesn't reveal Himself now, to stop all the pain and suffering? It is because we are now being tested through our trials to see if we will be faithful to Him in them. If we are, then He will promote us to rule and reign in His kingdom. "Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God" (1 Corinthians 4:5).

"And about these also Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord came (comes) with many thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him" (Jude 14).

The Lord's coming is a day of wrath against the sin that is imprisoning mankind. It is a day of revelation/understanding of who God is and His judgment. "But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed… This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares" (Romans 2:5,16 NIV). These verses should make us all tremble before a righteous God that is all light/truth, having no darkness in Him at all. He comes not to destroy the people of the earth, but to judge them, setting them free from all the sin that binds them, calling them back to Himself so that they and all of creation may be set free. This is what the day of Jubilee is all about, freedom! "Because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead" (Acts 17:31).

As I was out shopping one day I noticed that I was attracted to the finest of things around me like clothing, furniture, etc. Even the nicest looking and finest dressed people seemed to catch my eye. Things like money, cars, homes, jewelry, and success attract us also; these are all earthly things that attract our fleshly nature. Even though these things strive for our attention, in my heart I really have no desire or need for the finest of earthly things. That is just my point, Satan wants to use our eye gate to distract us from God and to create a need in us for natural things rather than chasing after God who we see with the eyes of our spirit. This is what the battle of the Jones' is all about, to lust after things other people have; this is to create a drive within us to work hard for money in order to gain things that we cannot keep. It is deception! "And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in (my heart), choke the word (Jesus), and it (Jesus) becometh unfruitful (in my life)" (Mark 4:19 KJV). Our natural man wants to cancel out all that we have seen with the eyes of our spirit as unreal and unattainable. When we first see the things of God with our spiritual eyes we get excited and have great energy to seek the things of God. But as time goes by we become discouraged in waiting and seeking, then the natural things seem to be more attainable and we are tempted to give up on the promises that God gave us. "That you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises" (Hebrews 6:12).

This is the very reason why we must daily practice the presence of the Lord to keep our lamps filled with fresh oil and keep them burning brightly for Him no matter what the circumstances of life might look like. We must not look at the things that can be seen, but the unseen, which is in our heart. "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:18 NAS).

In order for us to stay strong in God we must see the beauty of the Lord over all the things of earth. There is no greater beauty on earth, then God! He said, "I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys" (Song of Songs 2:1). "I, Jesus…, am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star" (Revelation 22:16). Obviously Jesus is not a rose, lily, or a star. He is more beautiful then all the sons of men and everything else on earth combined! If we can just see Him with the eyes of our spirit and desire Him above all the things on earth, then these things will grow strangely dim and be as attractive to us as a garbage dump! "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints" (Ephesians 1:18 NAS).

"One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, and to meditate in His temple" (Psalms 27:4).

Very soon all the people in the earth will see the beauty of the Lord and the nations will behold Him, and come running to Him in droves. People want to see beauty and wonder in things; this is why they pay big dollars to see nature and amusement parks. But when they behold the beauty of the Lord in His people, they will be changed! Right now evil and darkness seems to amuse people, but soon the fruit of evil will be known by all, and they will want to know and see the beauty of the Lord as He is in truth and abhor evil. Satan has obscured the beauty of the Lord with religion and made Him look ugly, dead, and lifeless and this is very repulsive to people. "In whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" (2 Corinthians 4:4). But one day they will see Him and mourn because they have missed Him as He was hiding in His people. "BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen" (Revelation 1:7 NAS). Even so come quickly Lord Jesus!

In September of 1998, I was in a prayer meeting and the people were praying for me. One woman had a vision of me standing before twelve doors full of great treasures and riches. Then she said, "Now God is going to open to you His great treasures one door at a time." I thought great; I could use the finances! How spiritually immature I was! About a year before this God had given me Isaiah 45:3, "And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden wealth of secret places, in order that you may know that it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name." Little did I know at the time that it wasn't natural riches that He was giving me, but spiritual truths! The very same night of this prophecy, I went home and began to read; spiritual truths began to be opened to me in a way I had not experienced before. This went on for weeks, months, and is still going on. It was like being baptized in the Holy Spirit over and over with hidden truths in God's word. In fact, it came so fast that I fell on the floor several times in great agony; shaking as if great lightning was striking me. It was marvelous!

The truths He was giving me from His word were totally opposite of what the church had taught me, and as a pastor what I had taught the church. This greatly shook me. I would say to the Lord in unbelief, "The church will think I've gone nuts and not listen to me!" In fact, I thought maybe all the pressures of life had pushed me over the edge; but then He would send me confirmation after confirmation, from many sources, to assure me that I was hearing from Him. This indeed was one of the most exciting times of my life to have the Holy Spirit personally teach me these truths. New revelations came to me concerning the coming of the Lord, the sons of God, and that there was no rapture of the church, as I once taught. He showed me that He was coming in the fullness of His Spirit, in and through His people. (If you desire to know more on what He has given me, I have written several books and articles on these teachings, our web site address is at the bottom of the page).

I had an experience similar to Paul's when he was knocked off his high horse of religion and struck blind. As this only revealed Paul's true spiritual condition, now it was my turn! Very soon it will happen to all Christians that are seeking for Him/truth. We must seek for Him/it; we must hunger after Him/it if we are going to obtain it/Him!

"And it came about that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me" (Acts 22:6).

As stated before, I believe these verses show that Jesus is going to return first to His people, then reveal Himself to the nations through the revelation of truth/light in His people. This account of Paul's revelation of Jesus Christ on the road is recorded three times in the book of Acts. Three is the number of God's fullness and this is what He is about to give us!

He comes suddenly! "Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming," says the LORD of hosts" (Malachi 3:1). Make no doubt about it; the Lord said He is coming! He will come to His temple (us) at a time and a manner most people aren't expecting.

He comes at noon. "But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day (noon day)" (Proverbs 4:18). His light/truth/revelation is to be growing in us greater and greater until the fullness of His truth/light comes forth from us. This is the spiritual noonday when the sons of God will shine upon the darkness of mankind, causing it to flee! "Arise, shine; for your light (fullness of truth) has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you" (Isaiah 60:1). "But for you who fear My name the sun (light/truth) of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall" (Malachi 4:2).

He comes in brightness. The word "bright" in Acts 22:6 means, "to arrive, as if coming in season." Our natural sun rises on time everyday like clockwork from the east. So it is with our God. His soon return is in perfect timing, as the entire universe orbits perfectly. "For just as the lightning (sun) comes from the east, and flashes even to the west, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be" (in perfect timing) (Matthew 24:27). This word "lighting" could and should be translated "sun" here; lighting does not always flash from the east to west, but the sun does. And nations will come to your light (truth/revelation), and kings to the brightness of your rising" (Isaiah 60:3). Jesus will arise in and through His people, the corporate man/body. Truly these are exciting days to be alive! Arise, shine!

"So we have the prophetic message more fully confirmed. You will do well to be attentive to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts" (2 Peter 1:19 NRSV).
