His Name is called,

THE WORD OF GOD

By Dan Luehrs

He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. Rev 19:13 (NASU)

There is nothing more powerful in the whole universe than the Word of God, for by it all of creation came into being and is held together by it. I know that our minds cannot rap around this fact, but the written word declares it so. [By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible]. Heb 11:3 (NASU). All that is seen and unseen was made by the Word and exists for the soul purpose of God’s will.

When I think of the Word of God I see the Bible and the written pages that men have penned and words that God has spoken. But when the New Testament speaks of the Word of God it refers to the person of Jesus Christ, it is He Who created all things. He is a man, Who is the Son of God, and the Son of man, Who is the Living Word of God! The Word of God is not just a book, He is a person much like us.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.” John 1:1-4 (NASU)

“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Col 1:16-17 (NASU)

The evidence is quite clear just from these few verses that I have given, Jesus is the Word of God and He made all things, proving Himself to be God. Only God could even think of making living beings out of Himself and then creating a whole world and universe for them to live in. My heart cries out at times, “Who is this God we serve?” I know that if you have been a Christian for any length of time you know these verses well and there is not much revelation here for you yet. But hold on, I am just building my case with the Scripture on Who Jesus really is and then who we are in Him. This way when I show you from the word who we are and what we are called to be, you will not be able to say, “I don’t believe it!”  Either the word is true or it is not, you will have to judge this word I write by the authenticity of the Scriptures and the Holy Spirits witness.

A NAME ONLY HE KNOWS

…He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. …and His name is called The Word of God. Rev 19:12-13 (NASU)

He has many names in Scripture, Jesus, the Lord, the Christ, the Almighty, Alpha, Omega, Bread of Life, Son of God, Son of Man, Bridegroom, and Chief Cornerstone. The list could go on and on, but yet He has chosen to reveal Himself in the Revelation as, THE WORD OF GOD! Why? Because it covers all of His names in the Bible, the Word of God is the power of God. We see Him in the beginning of the Bible as, “God said!” Jesus the Word, is the communication of God. That is all we need to know to see the Word in action, creating out of Himself everything, for it is in Him we live and move and have our being. There is nothing more real or having more substance than the Word of God, all of creation does not hold a candle to it and its very substance is heavier than all the universe combined. This is why He is called the Word of God.

HIS NAME IS GIVEN TO US

FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH. This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. Eph 5:31-32 (NASU)

“And if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” Rom 8:17 (NKJV)

When a man takes a wife, it is common for his wife to take his last name, they become one in body and name. This is why we are called the body of Christ because we have become one in spirit and body with Jesus. We are not just heirs to the kingdom of God, we are joint heirs with Jesus. This is a marriage term, meaning that everything He is, and has is ours, including His name, for we will be like Him because we shall see Him as He is.

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:1-2 (KJV)

WE WILL BE LIKE HIM

[Then I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His name and the name of His Father written on their foreheads]. Rev 14:1 (NASU). The 144,000 overcomers upon Mount Zion have ascended to the top of the kingdom of God and in the process they have become like Jesus through their suffering. Having the name of the Father and the Son written on their foreheads. This is the very character and attributes of Who the Father and Son are, this is exactly what the Word of God is, the character of God.

“There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.” Rev 22:3-4 (NASU)

In these two verses in the Revelation we are told that the overcomers and the bride have His name, “…His name is called The Word of God. Rev 19:13 (NASU). What I have shown you is true and faithful, because it is the word of God, and God cannot lie or deceive us. [And he said to me, "These words are faithful and true"; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His bond-servants the things which must soon take place]. Rev 22:6 (NASU).

If the Son of God is the Word of God, then the bride and all His sons are the word of God with Him, because that is Who and What He is. This is our inheritance! [He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.] Rev 21:7 (NKJV)

[I said, "You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High]. Ps 82:6 (NASU). If the Scriptures are true and cannot be broken, why are we not living up to our God given ability to live as He requires of us? Just in this one verse we are told that sons of God are gods. The word son means to be like the Father, not to be the Father, but to be like Him. I cannot be my dad, but I can be like him in many ways, in fact I am accused of being like him at times and that’s not always in a good way.

The Father said of Jesus on the day of His baptism, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." Mark 1:11 (NASU). What the Father said is, “You have become like Me, now I release upon You My Holy Spirit authority and power to change the world.” Jesus knew that He was God’s Son and He acted like it! He also knew that He was the Word of God when He said, 'I SAID, YOU ARE GODS!' (And the Scripture cannot be broken). In other words, this is not a lie, but the truth, and it will come to pass to those who know who they are in and with Jesus.

“Jesus answered them, "Has it not been written in your Law, 'I SAID, YOU ARE GODS'? "If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)” John 10:34-35 (NASU).

Notice the Word of God (Jesus) came to those who should have known that they are created the sons of God and the word of God, but they like many people today have no clue of who they are and what they are called to be in Christ. To be a son of God is to be the word of God, they are inseparable! We must start walking in who we are called to be (Jesus) and shake off all this false pride of who we think we are, or are not, with all our religious baggage of the past.

As a son of God, we will never be greater than the Father or Jesus the first born Son of God. In John 14:28 Jesus said, “The Father is greater than I.” We were made a little lower than God, isn’t it about time we start walking like true sons of God? You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty! Ps 8:5 (NASU). There is a prophetic truth here we must claim, [If we can see it, we can have it.] If God has shown you a promise from Scripture it is yours to claim, just as Abraham saw the Promised Land, it was his to walk and claim for his inheritance. Jesus our spiritual Abraham has already won the Promise Land of walking out the likeness of God as our inheritance, but, who, oh, who will see themselves walking it out while they are still upon this earth?

THE WORD BECAME FLESH

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 (NASU)

Because of the faith of Mary the mother of Jesus the Word of God became flesh and blood. Her acceptance of the word spoken to her by the angel caused her to be with child even though she never had been with a man, yet she manifested the impossible. It had never happened before yet she believed and suffered scorn from family and friends, but she knew that she had received reality and was a true gift from God.

We likewise through faith have received the word of God as the seed of Christ and He is growing in us to maturity until He is birthed through our lives into the full manifestation of a son of God. What we have living and growing in us is the WORD OF GOD. 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.” If I plant a corn seed, peas will not come up, but if I plant pea seeds I will have a pea harvest. The same is true of the seed of the Word of God, because the Word of God is planted in us the word will be harvested from us, which is the full maturity of Jesus Christ through our lives. The Word of God became flesh so that we would become the Word of God. Peter also said, “We are sharers in the divine nature” 2 Peter 1:4. To have divine nature means that we have the nature of God, to become like God!

FREEDOM IN THE GLORY

For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God's sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship]. -- That nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption [and gain an entrance] into the glorious freedom of God's children. Rom 8:19, 21 (AMP)

As the sons of God come into full maturity of knowing who they are and manifesting the glory that is in them and upon them, the masses of people around the world will come into the very freedom and knowledge of who they are and what they are called to be like, Jesus, the Pattern Son. If we know who we are and manifesting the power and authority of the word of God nothing will be able to stand before us. All sin, sickness, disease, demons, and principalities will fall to the Word of God! This is how Jesus did all His notable miracles, He spoke them into being because He is the Word of God and all of creation must obey! This is why we carry His name and likeness because that is what all of creation will see through us, not just some person, but the Person of Jesus Christ because we have become one with God and are like Him. The prayer of Jesus will be answered, He will have a body and bride like Himself. One cannot have unity, much less be married to someone unless we are of the same will and intellect to come into agreement. This is why we must become like God in all of our ways through the power of His working in and through us.

“That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” John 17:21 (NKJV)

Lord give us the faith to receive the impossible, your word tells us that no spoken word of God is impossible if we believe. Help our unbelief and deliver us from our religious mind sets to receive the Word of God implanted into our hearts. Teach us how to become one with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, by us becoming the living word of God from our inner most being. So that truth would come forth in the unity of our mind and spirit to glorify your Name. [Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us]. Eph 3:20 (NKJV)
